Jakov Baricic is a Croatian photographer and visual artist based in Zagreb. He is best known for his unique and creative approach to photography, which often combines elements of surrealism, abstraction, and symbolism.

Born in Zagreb in 1982, Jakov Baricic developed an interest in photography at an early age. He began experimenting with the medium as a teenager, taking pictures of his friends and family. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb where he studied photography and visual arts.

In 2006, Jakov Baricic had his first solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb. Since then, he has exhibited his work around the world including shows in New York City, London, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo and Los Angeles. His photographs have been featured in numerous publications including Vogue Italia and The New York Times Magazine.

Jakov Baricic’s work often explores themes of identity and memory through a combination of traditional photography techniques and digital manipulation. His photographs are characterized by their dreamlike quality and vivid colors that evoke a sense of nostalgia for past experiences. He has also collaborated with fashion designers such as Vivienne Westwood on several projects.

In addition to his photographic work, Jakov Baricic is also an accomplished filmmaker who has directed several short films that have been screened at film festivals around the world. He currently lives and works in Zagreb where he continues to explore new ways to express himself through photography and film.
