Hanako Jcuga is a Japanese photographer and visual artist based in Tokyo. She is known for her unique and captivating photographs that explore the beauty of everyday life.

Born in Tokyo, Japan, Hanako Jcuga developed an interest in photography at a young age. She began taking pictures of her friends and family, as well as the city around her. After graduating from high school, she attended Tokyo University of the Arts where she studied photography and visual arts.

In 2010, Hanako Jcuga had her first solo exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography. Since then, she has exhibited her work in numerous galleries and museums around the world including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Her work has also been featured in publications such as Vogue Japan, Harper’s Bazaar Japan, and The New York Times Magazine.

Hanako Jcuga’s photographs are characterized by their dreamy aesthetic and subtle use of color. She often captures everyday moments that are imbued with a sense of nostalgia or longing for something that has been lost or forgotten. Her work has been described as “poetic” and “hauntingly beautiful” by critics.

In addition to her photography career, Hanako Jcuga is also an active member of the Japanese art community. She regularly participates in workshops and lectures on photography and visual arts at universities throughout Japan. In 2020, she was awarded the prestigious Kimura Ihei Award for her contributions to Japanese photography.
