Federico Martins is a Brazilian photographer and visual artist based in São Paulo. He has been working in the field of photography since the early 2000s, and his work has been featured in numerous publications, exhibitions, and festivals around the world.

Martins’ work focuses on themes of identity, memory, and place. His photographs often explore the relationship between people and their environment, as well as how individuals interact with their surroundings. He has traveled extensively throughout Brazil to capture images of everyday life in different regions of the country.

Martins’ photographs have been exhibited at galleries and museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro, The Photographers’ Gallery in London, and The International Center for Photography in New York City. His work has also been featured in publications such as National Geographic Magazine, The New York Times Magazine, and Vogue Italia.

In addition to his photographic work, Martins is also an active member of several organizations dedicated to promoting photography as an art form. He is a founding member of Fotoativa – a collective that works to promote photography education and support photographers from all backgrounds – as well as a board member of FotoRio – an organization that organizes workshops and exhibitions for emerging photographers from Brazil.

Martins’ passion for photography has earned him numerous awards over the years, including first prize at the International Photography Awards (IPA) in 2014 and 2016. He was also named one of PDN’s 30 Emerging Photographers to Watch in 2017.
