Catherine Nikolaichuk is a Canadian photographer and visual artist based in Toronto, Ontario. She is best known for her vibrant and captivating photographs of nature, landscapes, and people.

Nikolaichuk was born in Toronto in 1988 and grew up surrounded by the beauty of the city’s parks and ravines. From an early age, she was drawn to photography as a way to capture the beauty of her surroundings. She studied photography at Ryerson University, where she developed her unique style of capturing light and color.

After graduating from Ryerson, Nikolaichuk began working as a freelance photographer for various publications and brands. Her work has been featured in publications such as National Geographic, The Globe & Mail, and The New York Times Magazine. She has also worked with brands such as Apple, Nike, and Lululemon.

In addition to her commercial work, Nikolaichuk has also created several personal projects that explore themes of identity and belonging. Her series “The Unseen” focuses on the lives of immigrants living in Canada who are often overlooked or ignored by society. Her series “The Journey” documents her travels around the world as she explores different cultures and landscapes.

Nikolaichuk’s work has been exhibited in galleries across Canada including the Art Gallery of Ontario, The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery, and The Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art. In 2020 she was awarded the Scotiabank Photography Award for her contributions to Canadian photography.

Nikolaichuk continues to push boundaries with her photography by exploring new ways to capture light and emotion through her lens.
