Candelaria Gil is a Mexican photographer and visual artist whose work focuses on the exploration of identity, memory, and the human experience. Born in Mexico City in 1985, she studied photography at the Centro de Estudios Superiores de Diseno de Monterrey (CEDIM).

Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City, the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego, and the International Center of Photography in New York. She has also been featured in publications such as The New York Times Magazine, The Guardian, and Vogue Mexico.

In addition to her photography practice, Candelaria is also an educator. She has taught workshops at institutions such as CEDIM and La Fototeca Nacional de Mexico. She is also a founding member of Colectivo Fotografico Mexicano (CFM), a collective dedicated to promoting Mexican photography.

Candelaria's work often explores themes related to identity and memory. Her photographs are often intimate portraits that capture moments of everyday life with a sense of nostalgia and longing. Through her work she seeks to create an emotional connection between her subjects and viewers that transcends language or culture.

Candelaria's work has been recognized with numerous awards including the National Photography Award from FONCA (Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes) in 2017 and the International Photography Award from PhotoEspaƱa in 2018.
