Ari Marcopoulos

Ari Marcopoulos is an internationally renowned photographer, filmmaker, and artist. Born in Amsterdam in 1957, he moved to New York City in 1979 and began his career as a photographer. His work has been featured in numerous publications, including The New York Times Magazine, Vogue, and GQ.

Marcopoulos is best known for his candid street photography of youth culture in the 1980s and 1990s. His photographs capture the energy of skateboarding culture, punk music scenes, and other aspects of urban life. He has also documented the lives of celebrities such as Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
