The die has been cast. Supermodel, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
will star in the upcoming Mad Max flick, Fury Road. The 25-year-old will be cast as one of the five wives, the other chosen ones are Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keogh and Adelaide Clemen. The fifth wife is yet to be chosen. Rosie will star alongside Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy.
The supermodel who has done well for herself on the runway did not get rave reviews for her acting skills in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. She replaced Megan Fox and took over the role as the new love interest of Shia LeBeouf’s hero character. The film has been viciously slammed by film critics and Rosie-Huntington-Whiteley’s performance has taken a beating.
Empire magazine had this to say about her acting skills. “ Bav introduces her with a self-parodying shot of her barely-clad bottom and it’s all downhill from there. You’ll believe a robot can fly, but you won’t believe a Huntington-Whiteley can talk. Huntington-Whiteley is so terrible, in fact, she makes her co-stars bad too.”
More of the same. Baz Bamigboye of Dailymail had this to say. “Huntington-Whiteley shows up in a figure-hugging, tighty-whitey dress but she’s all window dressing and doesn’t exactly excel at delivering her banal lines. Poor Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. She may be beautiful but she can’t act for toffee.”
The George Miller directed film, Mad Max: Fury Road is scheduled to start shooting in the summer and should make it to theaters sometime next year. It is safe to say that it will be a hit movie as it is a sci-fi thriller par excellence with a star-studded cast and Miller’s films have been well-received in the past by movie goers.
In the meantime, Rosie hasn’t given up her day job yet. She is the new face of Burberry fragrance “Body.”
