After 17 years Alessandra Ambrosio ran her last show for Victoria's Secret on Monday in Shanghai.
The 36-year-old Brazilian beauty announced that she is hanging up her wings in order to concentrate on her family. In addition, she will continue to work on her swimsuit line 'Ale by Alessandra' and focus on her acting career - she currently stars alongside Will Ferrell, Mel Gibson and Mark Wahlberg in the comedy "Daddy's Home 2.
After the show, the model took to Instagram writing in a post,'Words cannot describe how grateful I am to have been working for this amazing brand that inspires me and women all over the world. In my wildest dreams I would have never imagined doing 17 Victoria's Secret Fashion Shows.'
The brand ambassador also thanked Ed Razek and her 'Victoria's Secret Family' for the unforgettable memories and described her bittersweet last appearance in Shanghai: 'Last night was so emotional to say goodbye to my angel sisters but we put on the biggest and best show ever. Thank you Ed, and all my Victoria's Secret family for making these memories unforgettable. I could not have done this without all the love and support from my fans. It gives me great pride to be part the Victoria's Secret movement! I will always be cheering for you! Love you forever.'
Ambrosio who is the longest-serving Angel ever became a Victoria's Secret Angel in 2001. She ran her first show for the coveted lingerie label in 2005 and was also the very first model for PINK; Victoria's Secret lingerie line for younger women. Ambrosio has worn the heaviest wings with a weight of more than 30-pounds and wore the coveted Fantasy Bra twice. Even pregnancy did not stop her from walking the catwalk. Three months after her first delivery, and even when she was pregnant with her second child, she walked the show in towering heels and lingerie.
