Louis Vuitton gives its Paris headquarters an uplifting mural

Louis Vuitton has enlisted French artist Steven Burke, aka Luckylefthand to decorate the facade of its head office in Paris in the Pont Neuf district.

The fresco consists of 14 colorful and playful paintings that stretches more than 900 feet, across 14 window facades. Together they spread a positive message and positive vibes to the Pont Neuf neighborhood during the current lockdown.

Burke was given complete artistic freedom from Louis Vuitton for this project and was inspired by the minimalistic style and aesthetics of the 1960s and 1970s incorporating the landscapes of Hossegor. The mural also pays homage to Gaston-Louis Vuitton who, in the 1920s, said: 'Let's make the street a happy place'.

'I wanted to create this wall painting to offer Parisians a colorful stroll past the 14 windows, evoking a summer holiday while still representing the temporary period we are going through. The hands placed a meter and a half apart is a nod to what we're currently experiencing. I hope this wall painting's bright, saturated colors and rainbows made of big, curved lines will bring the positive energy we all need right now,' said Burke.

France is coming out of gradual lockdown on 11 May and for the residents of the Pont Neuf neighborhood, the artwork will ultimately bring joy.
