Karl Lagerfeld and Swarovski launch Fashion Jewelery Collection

Karl Lagerfeld and Swarovski have teamed up to launch a Fashion Jewellery Collection.

The legendary designer signed an exclusive multiyear licensing agreement, with the Austrian crystal maker to produce his own jewellery collection. Lagerfeld's namesake label will work with Swarovski to create two collections per year, including necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings.

The highly anticipated partnership was in the making, after Lagerfeld designed the Swarovski Tiara for the debutants of the Vienna Opera Ball earlier this year. Divided into three groups - 'Ikonic' which has a rocky aesthetic, 'Klassic Karl' inspired by the designer's handwritten signature and his famous feline, Choupette and 'Essentials' - each of which reflect the brand's DNA in a unique way.

'Karl is the man of accessorization and jewellery, it was therefore the next natural step for us to expand our product range with a fashion jewellery collection. Swarovski, with their significant expertise, makes the perfect partner for us and we look forward to launching the first collection this fall,' Pier Paolo Righi, chief executive officer of Karl Lagerfeld, said in a statement.

Lagerfeld's jewellery collection had its premiere at the Baselworld tradeshow in Basel, Switzerland. It will launch in September at Swarovski Crystal Worlds retail locations, Karl Lagerfeld stores, the karl.com web site and select retailers, with prices prices ranging between 50 euros and 250 euros.

This is not the first time that Lagerfeld is taking an excursion into the world of jewellery. Last year, the iconic designer entered a similar licensing agreement with jeweller Frederick Goldman to distribute his fine jewellery in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the U.K.
