Calvin Klein jeans gets a Raf Simons make-over

Raf Simons has revamped the jeans collection of Calvin Klein.

Since his appointment as creative director, the designer has implemented a number of successful changes at the fashion house such as changing the logo, introducing a new basic collection and a new fragrance.

His latest venture aims at restoring Calvin Klein Jeans' reputation by providing the brand with a completely new look. The new collection is completely affordable with themes on Americana featuring Andy Warhol prints, large logos, patchwork and blouses in Western style.

The entire collection ranges from blue denim utility shirts, overall pants and trucker pants to turtleneck sweaters, puffer coats, maxi dresses, coach's jackets, a guitar bag, leather boots, backpacks, caps, camera bags, clutches and flap bags.

'Clearly in 1978 we created the category, designer jeans. After the Warnaco acquisition five years ago, it was very clear to me that we had a significant opportunity to re-earn, re-own and regain our position as the number-one designer jeans brand in the world,' Steve Shiffman, chief executive officer of Calvin Klein Inc told WWD.

Priced between $80 to $90 or 100 to 200 euros the new the Calvin Klein Jeans collection will be available this month in stores and online. It will also be available at retailers such as Nordstrom, Lord and Taylor, Macy's, Amazon and Hudson's Bay in USA and El Corte Ingles, Asos, Zalando, Urban Outfitters and Galeries Lafayette in Europe.
