Beyonce graces the September cover of US Vogue

Beyonce is the cover star of the September issue of Vogue US.

The issue is significant not only because it is the "September Issue" i.e the most important and elaborately designed edition of the entire year for any fashion magazine, but also because it is for the first time in the history of US Vogue that its cover was lensed by a photographer with Afro-American roots.

Beyonce was lensed by 23-year-old Tyler Mitchell, who has already photographed for different magazines and major fashion brands such as Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, and Nike. On the cover, she looks angelic in a white Gucci dress with ruffles and high neckline while in the inside editorial she sports looks such as a sequin dress by Louis Vuitton and an evening dress by Dior from tulle and silk. The series of images are entirely in line with the art direction for her albums, for which Mitchell also contributed.

In her accompanying essay titled 'Beyonce in Her Own Words: Her Life, Her Body, Her Heritage', the 36-year-old talks about how she found satisfaction with her own body (especially after the birth of her twins), At what point in her life she sees herself and how she looks back on her beginnings.

Altogether, the September issue of Vogue US pays homage to Beyonce, after all, 2018 was her year!
