Alexa Chung designs affordable handbag

After launching her eponymous label this May, Alexa Chung has designed her very first handbag.

The limited edition bag is a $30 gingham tote, designed in collaboration with American Express in celebration of Small Business Saturday on December 2 - an intensive day of sales with the aim of supporting emerging labels. All profits will go to the Sarabande Foundation, an organization that supports young designers established by Lee Alexander McQueen.

The affordable gingham tote is light blue and white, 100% cotton with the letter A on the front. Chung also starred in the campaign for the bag which was shot on London's Columbia Road.

'This is the first bag we have created as a brand and I wanted it to reflect our goals as a company: to make things that are fun, classic, and quirky, but also easy and cool,' said Alexa. 'The gingham is a color way we had applied to one of my favorite dresses in our second collection and I love it because it's classic but fresh, and the mini sizing is an interesting play with proportion.'

The bag is available now on Alexa's online store.
