Saudi Designer Arwa Al Banawi and Adidas have collaborated on a reimagining of its iconic Forum sneaker.
A symbol of blending Eastern and Western cultures, the sneaker is inspired by the Middle East for which Al Banawi worked closely with the design team in Portland. Stamped with embroidered adidas Originals stripes, and made from canvas, the heels of the shoe feature the classic houndstooth pattern inspired by her love for tailored suits. The colors and hand-stitched embroidery patterns pay homage to the traditional Arabic patterns.
This is not the first time that Al Banawi and Adidas has worked together. Back in 2017 she had collaborated on an athletics-inspired collection. The Jeddah born designer founded her label of the same name in Dubai around six years ago and since then has become the most important voice in the Saudi Arabian fashion industry.
The Adidas x Arwa Al Banawi Forum sneaker is available now.
