Lanvin returns to elegance and sophistication with new Advertising campaign and striking new logo

French luxury fashion house Lanvin has launched a new advertising campaign that is aimed at regaining its grandeur.

Titled 'Character Studies' the campaign features intimate portraits of six female personalities such as Brazilian top model Raquel Zimmermann, Electra 3000, Wali Deutsch, Lex Peckham, Alay Deng and Lian Koster modeling looks from Lanvin's winter 2022 and pre-spring 2023 collections.

Lensed by Steven Meisel and creative direction by M|M Paris, the black-and-white images reveal the characteristics of a newly imagined Lanvin woman: cultured, curious, discreet, self-possessed and secure in just her own skin channeling what Jeanne Lanvin called 'le chic ultime'. The campaign aims to communicate Lanvin's new creative direction, which focuses on a more relaxed form of sophistication, linked to its confidence as the oldest fashion maison in Paris.

As part of its revamp, the house has also unveiled a new logo that moves away from the homogenizing graphic trend of sans serif typography, maintaining the serifs of the letters and introducing a peculiar angle in the union of the letter A.

Founded by Jeanne Lanvin in 1889 Lanvin is the oldest operating French luxury couture house. In 2018 Chinese multinational fashion group Fosun International Ltd (now called Lanvin Group) acquired the Parisian brand, making it part of its iconic brand portfolio that includes Sergio Rossi, Wolford, St John Knits and Caruso.
