Non-binary actress and activist Indya Moore and American clothing brand Tommy Hilfiger have teamed up for a non-gendered capsule.
Titled Tommy X Indya the collection which takes inspiration from the gender non-conformist silhouettes of Tommy Hilfger back in the Nineties, comprises of iconic pieces from the Tommy archive that have been modernized, refreshed and re-created for different body types, shapes and sizes. From a polo shirt, Oxford button-down, bandeau top, and pin-stripe blazer, to thick-soled boots, bucket hats, double-bridged sunglasses, loungewear, and underwear, the pieces come in color palettes of cream, muted blues, gray, and navy.
'This capsule goes beyond great style. It breaks a cycle and sets a new standard across the industry. Too many people are made to feel that something is wrong with them just for being themselves. It means everything to me to know that with our capsule, no one is made to feel wrong or different or broken. Everyone works perfectly for this collection, no matter who they are,'
Moore explained in a press statement.
'Great style knows no boundaries, and this has always driven my dream to create fashion for all. This collection embodies everything we stand for. From the design process to the campaign, the Tommy X Indya partnership is here to make people feel seen, accepted and included. This message means so much to everyone at Tommy Hilfiger. Working with Indya to share their story has been a unique and inspiring experience. We're so proud to share it with the world,'
said Tommy Hilfiger.
To accompany the launch of the collection a 90s R&B themed campaign was shot to showcase the versatilty of each piece featuring four inspiring talents; multimedia artist Chella Man, model and activist Gia Love, co-founder of the Intersex Justice Project Pidgeon, and model and actor Cory Walker.
The Tommy X Indya collection is available now on tommy.com and in selected stores.
