Inditex donates masks for Coronavirus Patients and Health Workers in Spain



Inditex is joining the fight against Coronavirus.

The parent company of Spanish fashion chain Zara announced that it will make its factories and logistics teams available to the Spanish government to provide masks for patients and medical workers healthcare professionals in Spain.

In a statement, Inditex said that it will make delivery of materials at least once a week. The fashion behemoth has already donated 10,000 protective face masks and by the end of this week expects to be in a position to ship a further 300,000.

In addition to distributing masks, the company is sourcing materials to make medical gowns and is investigating the possibility of switching some of its textile-manufacturing capacity over to the production of health materials, including involving its manufacturing experts.

Inditex joins the long list of fashion labels who have pledged their commitment to fighting the virus in response to the coronavirus epidemic. Moncler announced that it will donate 10 million euros to help fight the virus, Armani has donated 1.25 million to hospitals in Italy, Italian influencer Chiara Ferragni launched a large-scale fundraising campaign with her husband Fedez, while Dolce & Gabbana made a donation to a study by Italy's Humanitas University into immune system responses to SARS-CoV-2.
