David Beckham has been appointed as Ambassadorial President of the British Fashion Council (BFC).
The former football player and Kent & Curwen founder will serve to support the British organization to create partnerships in the United States and Asia. During the first twelve months Beckham and other leading fashion ambassadors and editors in the industry, will discover young fashion talent from different backgrounds through scholarships and support them globally.

I have long been passionate about British style, fashion and craftsmanship and this role gives me the chance to get under the skin of an industry I love. I am excited to be working closely with the British Fashion Council to promote and inspire young talent, from across the UK, on a global scale,'
Beckham said in a statement.
