Karl Lagerfeld Maison Introduces 2025 Wellen Furniture Collection

Karl Lagerfeld Maison has announced the expansion of its 'Wellen' Furniture collection with an extended range of 12 new statement pieces for contemporary living.

Unveiled during the Milan Design Week (April 8 to 12, 2025) at via Passione 8, the collection is an evolution of its 2024 Wellen line that was launched to much acclaim.

Dubbed 'K/WELLEN' the 2025 line was developed under the artistic direction of Caroline Lebar, SVP Image & Communication at KARL LAGERFELD, (who worked closely with Karl for decades on a variety of interior design projects) and guest designer Toan Nguyen, (who also contributed his expertise and vision to the first collection).

Comprising of minimal and elegant sideboards, mirrors, tables, shelves and chairs, the collection embodies Karl Lagerfeld's signature minimalist elegance for living and lounging. Metallic materials such as gunmetal, titanium, and raw aluminum were carefully selected to reflect Lagerfeld's attraction to metallic surfaces and chrome effects.

Standout pieces include a a round dining table, a stand-alone console crafted from a single a single sheet of aluminum, a bedside table with a drawer for function and storage, and a shelf that seems to float on a wall. All of the pieces seamlessly integrate the letter 'K' into their forms, thus blurring the line between design objects and practical furniture, and where beauty meets functionality.

'One of Karl's many incredible talents was the ability to make complex designs seem light and effortless, and this Wellen collection is a testament to that idea. These exceptional pieces blend form, functionality and playfulness - each able to stand out while also flowing seamlessly together. Similar to an exhibition in an art gallery, K/WELLEN is designed with intention, beauty and timeless sophistication,' Lebar said in a press release.

'Abstract and artistic, this season is inspired by Karl's connection to architecture and sculptural objects. Building on last season, which was heavily rooted in upholstery, the expanded collection introduces aluminum in a range of refined finishes-matte gunmetal, matte titanium, and raw aluminum with a glossy effect-alongside mirrored surfaces. These are more than functional furnishings; they are intriguing gestures of craftsmanship and unique objects of art,' Toan Nguyen added.
