Model of the Week: Michela Strate

Each week, we take the time to highlight one of our favorite emerging models. Previously, we profiled Australian beauty Madison Weik and this week we're turning our attention to Michela Strate.


Outshining with an impressive resume, the Danish model has come a long way at just the age of 19. Instantly recognizable for her artistic features, Michela is definitely a model to keep an eye on.


We caught up with her to talk about her career so far, her passion for modeling and her plans for the future.

Have you always wanted to be a model? If not, what did you want to be growing up?
To be a model have never crossed my mind before I got scouted. When I was little my biggest dream was to be a veterinarian. I have always loved animals. But my plans changed a little when I got back from one week of work experience as a veterinarian where I passed out during an operation.



How were you scouted?
I was scouted by Le Management on the street when I was 13. A few months later, I was scouted by two other Danish agencies in a Zara store and at a One Direction concert.



How would you describe yourself as a model in three words?
Industrious, down to earth and sweet



Your first modeling job?
My first job was a lookbook for Giambattista Valli



What is your favorite or most exciting aspect about being a model?
My favorite aspect of modeling is the fact that you never know what the day will bring and no day on work is the same. And of course, all the experiences you get.



Is there anyone that you admire as a role model and why?
I think Cara Delevinge and Romee Strijd are two super cool women because they have a strong personality and both of them are very successful and still down to earth - something I admire and find important.



What is your dream shoot/campaign?
I don't have a dream shoot/campaign. I am so grateful every time a brand chooses me. My dream shoot is a shoot where there is a good vibe and the whole team is having fun doing their passion together. But I have always wanted to be a Tommy girl - fingers crossed, haha.



Biggest lesson that modeling has taught you?
Stay close to people who make you feel like sunshine and stay true to yourself while you have both legs on the ground.



What's the best life advice you've ever received?
"Make someone smile every day. But never forget that you are someone too and Don't compare yourself to others - it is unfair"



How do you stay in shape?
I workout in the gym and I love to go mountain biking in the forest. I am a huge fan of nature, so I also love to walk where I can clear my mind while listening to music or a podcast.



If you had to be head to toe in one designer brand for the rest of your life, which would it be?
Acne studios - I just love it!!



Denim or leather?
Definitely denim


Heels or flats?
Flats, not that practical as a model



Vintage or contemporary fashion?
I can't choose



What is your guilty pleasure?
Ice-cream, chocolate, and snacks



When you're not busy modeling, what are some of your favorite things to do?
I love to drink coffee with my friends and talk for hours. I also enjoy horse riding in the forest. On top of that, I love to do the Danish word called "Hygge", where you do things that makes you comfortable.
