Model of the Week: Alexandra Steuer

Each week, we take the time to highlight one of our favorite emerging models. Previously, we profiled Neele Hoeper and this week we're turning our attention to Alexandra Steuer. The Frankfurt native who was scouted when she was 13 years old has one of the sweetest dispositions in the industry. Alexandra brings a unique confidence to the catwalk and has managed to make an impression in a short time. We caught with her to talk about her career so far, her passion for modeling and her plans for the future.

Have you always wanted to be a model? If not, what did you want to be growing up?
I always wanted to be a model. My passion for the art of modeling began when I was a young teenager. And to fulfill another dream I began my studies.

How were you scouted?
I was scouted in Miami when I was thirteen years old but I felt a little too young for that. When I felt grown up enough I sent photos to an agency in Germany. Luckily it worked.

How would you describe yourself as a model in three words?
Passionate, disciplined and Humorous.

Your first modeling job?
I was at an Italian designer's fashion presentation in Milan. The young designer didn't want an ordinary presentation, so we all danced together to the live music and captivated everyone! It was just fun.

What is your favorite or most exciting aspect about being a model?
Working with so many creative people from all over the world. Through them you get a lot of impressions and inspiration. You learn something new every day.

Is there anyone that you admire as a role model and why?
Candice Swanepoel! She worked hard for her profession and is an inspiration to so many. She is a model, has her own sustainable brand but first and foremost she is a mother!

What's been your biggest OMG moment to date?
When I realized I was flying to Milan to be part of the fashion week. And when my eight year relationship turned into an engagement.

What is your dream shoot/campaign?
My biggest dream is to be on the cover of the Vogue magazine and to work for Victoria's Secret.

Biggest lesson that modeling has taught you?
Never give up!

What's the best life advice you've ever received?
There is no failure. You either win or learn.

How do you stay in shape?
With sport and healthy nutrition.

What do you think about fashion? What does it mean to you?
Fashion is an art to express who you are. It is versatile, combinable and sometimes simply timeless. For me, fashion is an expression of feelings.

If you had to be head to toe in one designer brand for the rest of your life, which would it be?
Diesel.

How would you describe your style?
I don't have a particular type of style and therefore can't classify it at all. Depending on my mood, I wear what I feel like wearing.

Denim or leather?
Denim.

Heels or flats?
I'm not afraid of heights, have you seen my shoes?

Vintage or contemporary fashion?
A mix of both!

What is your guilty pleasure?
Lipstick! Definitely Lipstick.

What's been your most indulgent purchase since you became a model?
A Bordeaux red coat from DKNY.

If you were an emoji, which would you be and why?
The smiling one with the red cheeks. Because I always have a smile on my lips and I am very enthusiastic.

When you're not busy modeling, what are some of your favorite things to do?
I spend most of my time with my loved ones and my two cute dogs. I love to try new Make-up looks.

What are you working on now and what do you dream of happening in the future?

I am currently working on my studies and my modelling career.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years' time?
To work successfully as a model in ten years and to be able to make a living from it, otherwise I am professionally self-employed or I am employed in an exciting, prosperous company at best in the fashion industry.
