Virgil Abloh designs limited edition collection for Vitra

Virgil Abloh has designed pieces of furniture for the interior and design company Vitra.

The 38-year-old designer and men's artistic director of Louis Vuitton has revisted his roots. Before turning to Fashion he had started his career with a degree in architecture. Now he has reimagined many of the furniture brand's most iconic products that involved adapting the designs of Jean Prouve and the Eames to create his vision of the home of the future.

The collection consists of new versions of the 1950s Antony armchair by Jean Prouve and the 1940s Petite Potence wall lamp as well as a Ceramic Block.. The Antony is made of clear plexiglass seat, instead of wood, and its steel frame is coated with bright orange lacquer while the wall lamp is also orange, with a metal cage around the LED bulb. Both design elements - the bright color and the transparency - also appeared in the first men's collection, which the designer designed for Louis Vuitton. Only 100 copies of Antony and 300 copies of Petite Potence will be available.

Abloh's vision of the home of a young adult in 2035 will be on exhibition titled 'Twentythirtyfive' at the Vitra Fire Station in Weil am Rhein, Germany till 31 July.

All of the products will be available directly on the Vitra Campus as well as its online shop.
