Maison Margiela teams up with Reebok for Tabi Sneakers

Maison Margiela has collaborated with Reebok for a sneaker that is sure to delight fashion lovers.

The new offering which made its debut at the French luxury house's couture spring-summer 2020 show is a crossover between Reebok's legendary Instapump Fury sneaker and Margiela's split-toe shoes. For those interested in a history lesson, Rebook had first introduced the Instapump in 1994 while Margiela's split-toe shoes first launched in 1988 and were inspired by traditional Japanese footwear.

Part of Margiela's Artisanal Co-Ed collection, the Tabi sneaker arrives in six different color-ways: solid black, white, yellow; as well as a variety of combinations of black, red, white, and blue. The hybrid sneaker features logos of both brands with Maison Margiela in a white stitch on the upper back and Reebok's Vector embroidered on the heel.

'The shoe builds on Maison Margiela's analyses of the conversation between humanity and technology in the digital age,' the brand said in a statement. 'Employing the technical inventions of Reebok, it is a statement shoe for the age of the cyber-industrial revolution thanks to the technical innovations of Reebok and its own radical approach to craftsmanship'

The Reebok x Maison Margiela sneaker will be available later this year in Maison Margiela stores.
