Julie de Libran exits Sonia Rykiel

Julie de Libran is no longer creative director at Sonia Rykiel.

The Franco-American designer parted ways with the French Fashion house after almost five years news of which was confirmed by the brand on Thursday. The Spring-Summer 2019 which was shown during the 50th anniversary of the brand on September 29, 2018, is the final collection from Libran.

Born in Provence and raised in California Libran joined the label in May 2014 and debuted her first collection during Paris Fashion Week Spring / Summer 2015. Prior to that, she worked at Gianfranco Ferre, Versace, Prada and Louis Vuitton.

Libran's departure comes amidst rumors that the label which is owned by First Heritage Brands (also owner of Belgian leather goods Delvaux and French shoe Robert Clergerie), is in search of a new investor.

The identity of her successor has not yet been revealed.
