The 67-year-old French designer who presented his last show celebrating 50 years of his career during the Paris Haute Couture Week has announced a new concept for his Haute Couture. Each season, he will invite a designer to interpret the codes of the House starting with Japanese designer Chitose Abe of Sacai.

'I have a long-held admiration for Jean Paul's unique vision of subversive femininity and his originality, both of which I've strived towards in my work since the beginning. It's a true honor to be given the opportunity to be the custodian of his house as the first designer of this project,' Abe added.

Abe who founded Sacai in 1999 is has been counted among the most important designers of her generation and is known for combining classical pieces with surprising materials and techniques.

The next haute couture collection of Jean Paul Gaultier by Chitose Abe will be unveiled in July 2020 at Paris Fashion Week.
