Courreges appoints Nicolas Di Felice as its new Artistic Director

French fashion house Courreges has appointed Nicolas Di Felice as its new Artistic Director.

The 37-year-old Belgian designer replaces German fashion designer Yolanda Zobel who was appointed in 2018 following the departure of Meyer and Vaillant but quit in January of this year after almost two years.

'I've always dreamed of Courreges, with its radical and enveloping universe. It is a house which means a lot to me and in which I see myself. Its simplicity, clarity, not to mention its optimism-I am honored to keep these values alive, and I hope to do so with as much passion and enthusiasm as the house's founder,' Di Felice said in a statement.

Di Felice does not lack the necessary experience and seems to be an apt match in his first leading role. After graduating from La Cambre in Brussels he worked under the tutelage of Nicolas Ghesquiere twice, first at Balenciaga in 2008 and later at Louis Vuitton in 2015. He also had a brief stint at Christian Dior and worked under Raf Simons.

Di Felice will report to Adrien Da Maia who took over as CEO in March and will present his first collection for Courreges in March 2021.
