Pronovias is a family firm that began life in El Suizo, a prestigious Barcelona store that specialised in lace, embroidery and high-quality silk fabrics founded by Alberto Palatchi Bienveniste in 1922. Catalonia's high society brides had their wedding dresses made here.
In 1964 the company launches its first collection of prï¿½t-a-porter wedding gowns in Spain. Pronovias became the first Spanish specialist in bridal and the shops of Pronovias became the perfect place for brides to find their dresses and accessories. In 1968 the shop in Paseo de Gracia in Barcelona organised its first fashon show.
In the 80's the brand went international. Stores opened in Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Italy and Pronovias started appearing in Latin America.
In 2004 the first collections were launched under licence, working with designers such as Hannibal Laguna, Lidia Delgado and Miguel Palacio. They were followed by names such as Emanuel Ungaro, Badgley Mischka, Lorenzo Caprile, Valentino and Elie Saab.
The six-storey flagship store opned in New York between 5th Avenue and Madison in 2008.
In 2013 the Atelier Pronovias Collection was launched. This new collection of dresses features some real treasures, all featuring sumptuous fabrics, stunning silks and exquisite lace, hand stitched onto Chantilly, gauze and taffeta.
Today, Pronovias is sold in 105 countries worldwide including 4000 sales points and 163 owned stores.
