Noir Kei Ninomiya

Tokyo based and former Comme des Garçons designer and patternmaker Kei Ninomiya, started his womenswear line in 2012, focusing on a sole color: black. Explored in a stunning range of shades, textures, and materials, black acts as a blank canvas for the intricate techniques Ninomiya employs in his quest for new ways to approach clothing forms. Laser cutting, metal hardware, detailed pleating, experimental knits, and other DIY-inspired fabrications transform tulle, leather, pearls, and jersey into adventurous executions of a design philosophy rooted in process.
