Zoo Yong Gyun is a South Korean photographer and visual artist. He is best known for his work in the fields of documentary photography, portraiture, and street photography.

Born in Seoul, South Korea in 1975, Zoo Yong Gyun developed an interest in photography at an early age. He began taking pictures of his family and friends as a hobby before eventually enrolling in the Seoul Institute of the Arts to study photography. After graduating from the institute, he worked as a freelance photographer for various magazines and newspapers.

In 2003, Zoo Yong Gyun released his first book of photographs titled “The People I Meet” which featured portraits of everyday people he encountered on the streets of Seoul. This book was well-received by critics and established him as one of South Korea’s leading documentary photographers.

Since then, Zoo Yong Gyun has gone on to publish several other books including “The Streets I Walk” (2006), “The Faces I See” (2009), and “The World I See” (2012). His work has been exhibited in galleries around the world including New York City, London, Tokyo, and Seoul. He has also been featured in numerous publications such as The New York Times Magazine, Time Magazine, and National Geographic.

Zoo Yong Gyun continues to be an influential figure in South Korean photography today. His work is characterized by its intimate portrayal of everyday life and its ability to capture moments that are often overlooked or forgotten.
