Xiao Gang is a Chinese photographer and visual artist who has been capturing the beauty of his homeland for over two decades. Born in Beijing in 1975, Xiao Gang developed an early interest in photography and began taking pictures of his family and friends at a young age. After graduating from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, he began to focus on documentary photography, capturing the everyday life of people living in rural China.

In 2003, Xiao Gang's work was featured in a solo exhibition at the National Art Museum of China, which marked the beginning of his career as a professional photographer. Since then, he has had numerous solo exhibitions around the world and has been featured in publications such as Time Magazine and The New York Times. His work has also been included in several international art festivals including the Pingyao International Photography Festival and the Guangzhou Photo Biennial.

Xiao Gang's photographs are known for their vivid colors and intimate compositions that capture both the beauty and hardship of life in rural China.
