Prema Surya is an award-winning photographer and visual artist based in India. She has been capturing the beauty of her homeland for over two decades, and her work has been featured in numerous publications, exhibitions, and festivals around the world.

Born in Chennai, India, Prema was raised in a family of photographers. From a young age she was exposed to the art of photography and quickly developed a passion for it. She studied photography at the Government College of Fine Arts in Chennai before going on to pursue a degree in Visual Communication from Loyola College.

Throughout her career, Prema has focused on capturing the beauty of India’s diverse landscapes and cultures. Her work often features vibrant colors and intricate details that bring out the unique character of each place she visits. She has traveled extensively throughout India to capture its many faces, from bustling cities to remote villages.

In addition to her photography work, Prema is also an active member of several organizations dedicated to promoting photography as an art form. She is a founding member of the Indian Photographic Society and serves as an advisor for several other organizations dedicated to promoting photography in India.

Prema’s work has been recognized with numerous awards including the National Award for Photography from the Government of India (2006), Best Photographer Award from The Hindu (2008), and Best Documentary Photographer Award from The Times Of India (2009). Her photographs have been exhibited at galleries around the world including The National Gallery Of Modern Art in New Delhi, The Museum Of Contemporary Art in Tokyo, and The International Center Of Photography in New York City.
