Matti Hietala is a Finnish photographer who has been capturing stunning images of the natural world for over two decades. Born in Helsinki, Finland in 1975, Matti developed an early interest in photography and began taking pictures of his surroundings at a young age.

He studied photography at the University of Art and Design Helsinki, graduating with a degree in 2000. After graduation, Matti began working as a freelance photographer, specializing in landscape and nature photography. His work has been featured in numerous publications including National Geographic and Outdoor Photographer Magazine.

Matti's photographs have also been exhibited around the world, including at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Helsinki and the International Center for Photography in New York City. He has won numerous awards for his work, including the Finnish Nature Photography Award and the European Wildlife Photographer of the Year Award.

In addition to his photographic work, Matti is also an avid outdoorsman who enjoys exploring nature on foot or by kayak. He is passionate about protecting our environment and raising awareness about climate change through his art. He currently lives in Finland with his wife and two children.
