Shintsubo was born in Tokyo in 1975 and grew up surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the city. From an early age, he was fascinated by the beauty of everyday life, which he captured through photography. After graduating from high school, he studied photography at Tokyo Polytechnic University, where he developed his skills as a photographer.

In 2000, Shintsubo began to exhibit his work in galleries around Japan.
