Jolijn Snijders is a Dutch photographer and visual artist based in Amsterdam. She is known for her unique and captivating images that explore the relationship between people and their environment.

Snijders was born in the Netherlands in 1983. She studied photography at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, graduating with honors in 2006. After graduation, she began working as a freelance photographer, shooting for magazines such as Vogue, Elle, and Glamour.

In 2010, Snijders released her first book of photographs entitled “The Human Landscape” which featured her work from around the world. Her work has since been exhibited in galleries and museums across Europe and the United States. In 2013, she was awarded the prestigious Dutch Doc Award for her documentary series “The Human Landscape” which explored the lives of people living on the fringes of society.

Snijders’ work has been featured in numerous publications including The New York Times Magazine, The Guardian, National Geographic, and TIME Magazine. She has also collaborated with brands such as Nike and Adidas to create powerful visuals for their campaigns. In addition to her photography career, Snijders is also an active member of several environmental organizations such as Greenpeace and Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.

Snijders continues to push boundaries with her photography by exploring themes such as identity, gender roles, migration, climate change, and social justice through her lens. Her work has been praised for its ability to capture both beauty and complexity within a single frame.
