Anton Corbijn is a Dutch photographer, music video director, and film director. He is best known for his iconic photographs of musicians and his music videos for bands such as U2, Depeche Mode, Nirvana, and Joy Division.

Born in Strijen, Netherlands in 1955, Corbijn began taking photographs at the age of 14. He studied at the Academy of Arts in Arnhem from 1975 to 1976 before moving to London in 1979. It was there that he began working as a freelance photographer for British music magazines such as NME and Melody Maker. His work quickly gained recognition and he soon became one of the most sought-after photographers in the music industry.

Corbijn's photography has been featured in numerous books and exhibitions around the world. His work has also been featured on album covers for artists such as U2, Depeche Mode, Nirvana, Joy Division, R.E.M., Metallica, and The Rolling Stones. In addition to his photography work, Corbijn has directed over 40 music videos for various artists including U2's "One" and Depeche Mode's "Enjoy The Silence". He has also directed several feature films including Control (2007), The American (2010), A Most Wanted Man (2014), Life (2015), and A Private War (2018).

Throughout his career Corbijn has received numerous awards including an International Emmy Award for Best Non-Scripted Entertainment for Control (2007) and a Grammy Award for Best Music Video for U2's "One" (1992). He was also awarded an Honorary Fellowship from the Royal Photographic Society in 2011.
