Alan Chan is a renowned photographer and visual artist based in Hong Kong. He is best known for his unique and captivating images of the city’s urban landscape.

Born in Hong Kong in 1975, Chan developed an early interest in photography and began taking pictures at the age of 12. After graduating from high school, he attended the Hong Kong Polytechnic University where he studied photography and visual arts. During this time, he also worked as an assistant to several professional photographers, gaining valuable experience and insight into the craft.

In 2000, Chan opened his own studio in Hong Kong and began to focus on his own work. His photographs have been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world, including shows at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. He has also been commissioned to create images for a variety of commercial clients such as Nike, Adidas, and Apple.

Chan’s work is characterized by its vivid colors and dynamic compositions that capture the energy of urban life. His photographs often feature iconic landmarks such as Victoria Harbour or the skyline of Hong Kong Island, but he also takes great care to capture everyday moments that are often overlooked by other photographers.

In addition to his photographic work, Chan has also written several books about photography and visual arts. He currently teaches classes on photography at various universities throughout Asia and continues to be an influential figure in the world of photography.
