Shailene Woodley covers Marie Claire US

She stars in the highly anticipated film Divergent, which will premier in theatres this Friday, but before seeing her in action, Marie Claire has enlisted young American actress-of-the-moment Shailene Woodley to grace the cover of its April 2014 issue.

Captured by the lens of Dutch fashion photographer Jan Welters, the twenty-two year-old beauty appears on the cover of the publication wearing signature pieces from Tommy Hilfiger's Spring/Summer 2014 offering. The stylish neoprene-bonded leather outfit consists of a surf-inspired maillot swimsuit in two contrasting shades of blue and orange and matching trousers which the shirt-haired actress wore half unzipped.

Woodley, who rose to notoriety in the ABC Family series The Secret Life of the American Teenager by playing the lead role of Amy Juergens, revealed why she is currently single and happily so. "I just haven't met anyone where I was like, 'Wow I could definitely see myself spending a season of my life with you'," declared the actress in the interview with Marie Claire. "I don't even know if humans are genetically made to be with one person forever."

Regarding her now overcome insecurities, the rising star said; "My whole life I've been so self-conscious about being skinny. And just recently I don't care anymore. All insecurities are projected because of what you think others are saying about you, but they don't really matter at all. My only real insecurities in high school were having such long legs and thick hair – things I’m so very grateful for now."

The California-born it-girl has several films coming up, most of which are sequels from the Divergent series, a trilogy which is inspired by the novels by author Veronica Roth and could certainly give The Hunger Games a run for its money. Jennifer Lawrence, watch out!
