After arriving in the country down under for an exclusive catwalk appearance at the Camilla Franks spectacle in Melbourne, British model Georgia May Jagger
made an unexpected change of plans immediately after learning of the untimely loss of noted fashion designer L'Wren Scott.
The twenty-two year-old beauty was spotted at the Sydney Airport on Tuesday, March 18th, where she would take a connecting flight to Melbourne for that city's fashion week, but the grief-stricken blonde has since jetted out of Australia to join her family in New York. Jagger was close to forty-nine year-old Scott, as she was a friend of the family and also the long-time partner of the model's father, Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger.
"In light of the recent sad news, Georgia May Jagger will not be participating in Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival for the Camilla Grand Showcase. We ask that you respect Ms Jagger and her family's privacy at this very difficult time," said a spokesperson for Camilla Franks in a statement. "On behalf of the Festival and the Camilla team we offer our sincere condolences to Ms Jagger and her family."
Scott's body was discovered by her assistant Lupe Montufar on Monday morning, hanging from a scarf which was tied to a doorknob in her New York apartment home. The former helper said she was unable to explain the American designer and former model's suicide. "She would tell me she wanted to get married and have a family," said Montufar. "But she didn’t want to get her hopes up or say it out loud to Mick. She didn’t want to pressure him."
