Arizona Muse: the new hairsetter?

After the buzz on a possible romance with Freja Beha Erichsen, Arizona Muse is back into the controversy field. The current issue is her new haircut.
It was first spotted on pictures of her for Spring 2012 campaigns (Fendi and Isabel Marant) a Vogue Paris (December/January) editorial and the cover of Vogue UK February edition. While the heavy hairstyling applied to the previous, it was noticeable that Arizona’s short haircut was clearly influenced by the 1990’s and perhaps inspired by the ones sported by celebrities of the time - Linda Evangelista, Sharon Stone, Princess Diana and Meg Ryan. Lately, her hair has been always bob short. Now it’s a lot shorter. Some opinions depreciatively consider it to be “mom hair”.
A New York hairstylist, asked about this subject by a team from the website Fashionista.com, had a different opinion. Besides referring the 90’s influence is still very present and some celebrities – Emma Watson and Carey Mulligan -have recently appeared with similar hairstyles while growing their popular pixies, he analyzed: “For me it’s super retro and [I] love that and [it's] perfect for edititorial but everyday it’s a tough sell. Reads feminine and masculine sometimes, as well as more mature”.
One thing is for sure: controversially or not, Arizona Muse is about to be right on trend and lots of “moms” may be seen in the streets next spring.
