Karl Lagerfeld designs \'Karlbox\' for Faber-Castell

Karl Lagerfeld's latest endeavour is a colorful and artistic one.

The 82-year-old Chanel creative director has collaborated with Faber-Castell on a limited collection of drawing and painting tools known as 'Karlbox'. The box which was designed by Lagerfeld is a unique homage to himself and an expression of the symbiosis between an artist and its tools.

Intended to look like a Chinese wedding cabinet, the box contains 350 Faber-Castell high quality art tools for painting and drawing. Divided into several removable drawers, it stores a range of markers, crayons, colour pencils each chosen personally by Lagerfeld. 'To me, drawing is like breathing and writing. These are things that almost relax me,' said Lagerfeld of the collaboration. 'Since I was a child in Germany, Faber-Castell has been the most famous brand, known for its especially good quality. That reputation remains just as true today, particularly for artist pencils.'

The box is limited to 2,500 pieces worldwide and comes with a serial number plate and a certificate of authenticity.
