Idris Elba Becomes First Maxim Cover Man

British actor Idris Elba made history last week as the first ever man to grace the cover of Maxim magazine.

The 42-year-old stars in Maxim's September fashion issue sporting a stylish black leopard-print funnel coat and looking handsome as ever. Under the fitting headline 'Man Up', it describes its cover star as an 'actor, musician, racecar driver and all-around badass'.

"We've never in U.S. Maxim history had a man on the cover solo," Maxim editor-in-chief Kate Lanphear told Racked. "This is the very first time, and there was no one else in the world more bad-ass than Idris."

In his interview with the mag Idris discusses life, sex, movies and rumors of him appearing in the James Bond series. Idris also stars in a behind-the-scenes video of the photoshoot.
