Champion opens first Dutch store in Amsterdam

Retro American Sportswear clothing brand Champion will open its first store in the Netherlands next month.

The flagship store will be located in the Reestraat nr 9 area that's home to vintage and designer shopping, specialty stores and boutiques. The store will be the destination for lovers of the original Reverse Weave styles, American Made. In addition, special items in small quantities will also be found here.

To coincide with the launch, the brand came up with a local campaign: 'Champions of Amsterdam'. Lensed by portrait photographer Dennis Branko, the campaign features eight young capital city champions, including rapper and style icon Samuel Sekyere a.k.a Bokoesam, tattoo artist Morrison Schiffmacher and the Eritrean-Dutch singer-songwriter Rimon. According to the brand, the images document the 'next generation' of champions and pioneers in Amsterdam and will be exhibited inside the new flagship store.

Champion is well known for its sweatshirts and jogging pants with the famous C-logo on it and therefore fits well with the logo and sportswear trend of the moment. Celebrities such as Hailey Baldwin, Bella Hadid, and Selena Gomez are regularly seen in sweaters of the brand. The fashion brand is owned by HanesBrands Inc. and currently has stores in forty different countries, including in the United States Asia and Europe

The Champion flagship store will open in Reestraat nr 9 on 7 June.
