Burberry unveils new monogram and logo

Burberry's Chief Creative Officer, Riccardi Tisci today unveiled a new logo and monogram for the British house.

The announcement comes ahead of Tisci's first runway show for Burberry during London Fashion Week this September. The new graphic identity was designed with British graphic designer Peter Saville who redesigned Calvin Klein's new logo under Raf Simons last year.

According to the brand, the entire design process took place in just four weeks. The new graphic was inspired by the house's archives, particularly the logo from 1908 and a monogram from its founder Thomas Burberry. The logo features a sleek and streamlined bold sans-serif text in all caps while the monogram an interlocking 'TB' pattern.

The redesign marks the first new logo design for Burberry in nearly two decades as the last logo revamp took place in 1999 when the brand dropped the 's' from 'Burberry's.' The new logo and monogram will roll out in Burberry stores in the coming months.
