Getting soaked to the skin, then indulging in a spot of mud-wrestling might not be the obvious way for a model to clean up.
But Sophie Anderton got stuck in at a tough boot camp on a chilly Norfolk beach on Friday as she tried to put her years of drink, drugs and prostitution behind her.
The former Gossard model, 32, swapped her usual designer clothes and Jimmy Choo shoes for a clinging vest, cropped leggings and trainers to take part in a series of vigorous individual and team exercises.
Only last month she was pictured snorting cocaine and publicly admitted to having sex for money.
In her bid to shape up, ex-Army instructors from the No1 Boot Camp, near Sandringham, kept her and other guests hard at work from 6am to 6pm.
They retired for the evening to a nearby country-house hotel where, according to a camp spokeswoman, ‘no one has any energy for partying at all. It’s dinner at 7pm in the hotel and everyone crawls off to bed thoroughly exhausted’.
She added: ‘Sophie’s been on one of our boot camps before in Somerset, but she just wanted to tone up again with a few days’ hard work.’
Now Sophie says she wants to get down to developing her new line of lingerie – though a decent wet suit might be a good idea first.
