Sally plays the waiting game
sally grahamSTYLE is to be set, not followed, says model Sally Graham.
As the face of this year's Spring Fashion Week, Graham, 23, is waiting to see what other women wear before picking something different.
"I'm already predicting what a lot of women will be wearing and I'll try to get away from that with something vintage," she said.
"I'll be looking at something pretty instead of the normal strapless cocktail dress and I'm thinking of making my own hat. I'm very traditional. I'll wear a hat, not a fascinator. I really love hats."
She is way behind schedule and expects to decide on her outfit the day before, if not the day, of the event.
She is going to the Caulfield Cup with girlfriends and is hoping to go to either Derby Day or Oaks.
"I have some friends coming over from Adelaide and they'll all come with me," she said.
While she likes the simplicity of black and silver, which is the perfect colour combination for matching strong accessories, Graham is also keen to embrace colour this year, with a floral print.
The Adelaide-born model has never attended the Melbourne carnival before, but she has been to the races in Adelaide.
"The Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival is so well-known and it's a celebration of this time of year, the end of winter and we can feel summer coming," she said.
