A court-appointed receiver for an entertainment group is suing Paris Hilton and her company. The lawsuit filed in Miami alleges Hilton owes $75,000 in damages for not fulfilling repeated requests to appear on talk shows and do interviews to promote a movie she was in.
The lawsuit is on behalf of Worldwide Entertainment Group Inc. and its entities. The lawsuit said Hilton entered into an agreement in 2004 for the production and distribution of a motion picture titled "National Lampoon's Pledge This!"
The group said it paid the heiress and her company, Paris Hilton Entertainment Inc., $1 million to "furnish Hilton's acting services" and have her provide "reasonable promotion and publicity" for the movie. The group alleges in the lawsuit that Hilton did not satisfy her obligations.
A message left for Hilton's publicist, Lori Glass Berk, was not immediately returned.
