Next Top Model Demelza Reveley hospitalised after fainting
demelza-reveleyCONTROVERSIAL Australia's Next Top Model winner Demelza Reveley was recently rushed to hospital after she fainted.
The pressures of trying to carve out a real-life catwalk career proved too much for the 16-year-old last month.
She was suffering from a nasty virus when she fainted at home.
The Wollongong teen was taken to a Sydney hospital by her mother, who was worried her daughter might have contracted meningococcal disease.
"I had the flu and my mum, being a mother, was very worried and mindful of what was going on," Demelza said.
"I had heat rash and she thought it was meningococcal, so when I fainted she rushed me in."
After a few days of rest, Reveley made a full recovery and her gruelling schedule has now re-commenced in New York.
As part of her Top Model prize package, Reveley flew to the US at the weekend to star in a Napoleon Cosmetics shoot in Palm Springs before attending castings with top New York modelling agencies.
"I am looking forward to doing the photo shoot and actually doing some work and getting some more experience," she said.
As well as the Napoleon photo shoot, Reveley will represent the makeup brand's foray on to the shelves of Target in the US.
