Junk-food Jodie floored as agency gives her the push
jodie kidd
At her peak, she was one of Britain’s most successful models.
But things have gone from bad to worse for Jodie Kidd, who has been dropped by her model agency after losing several lucrative contracts.
The supermodel was caught on camera allegedly selling cocaine to an undercover reporter last year, and her career has been in freefall since.
Now, leading London-based model agency Independent, which has represented 29-year-old Jodie for most of her career, has taken her off its books.
‘Jodie was a bit arrogant and thought a drugs scandal would be as beneficial for her as for Kate Moss,’ says a source.
‘But the fact is, Jodie isn’t in the same league as Kate. She wasn’t looking after herself and piled on weight by eating junk food. It was proving hard to get her any work at all.’
Jodie lost her 250,000-a-year contract with Marks & Spencer last September, after she was seen allegedly drug dealing.
She then tried to forge a career as a TV presenter.
But in May she lost her contract with Channel 4 to present the Red Bull Air Race and was replaced by ex-Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq.
Independent said: ‘We’re not representing Jodie any more. She’s not modelling at the moment and wants to do more TV presenting.’
