I haven't lost weight: Miranda Kerr hits back over claims she slimmed down for high fashion

She is famed for an enviable slim-yet-curvy shape, but when supermodel Miranda Kerr was pictured on a swimwear shoot in Sydney last week, onlookers were shocked by what appeared to be a dramatic weight loss.
Today, the 26-year-old, who dates British actor Orlando Bloom, spoke out after speculation that she had shed pounds in order to fit into the tiny sample-size clothes at the Balenciaga fashion show in Paris two weeks ago.
She blamed the poses she had been forced to adopt for the shots, and insisted that a healthy lifestyle was essential in order for her to meet the demands of her hectic lifestyle.
'The exaggerated poses for the shoot have made me appear thinner than normal from behind, but I am the same weight and measurements I have maintained for more than three years,' she told Grazia Australia.
'I am conscious of not only maintaining but promoting a healthy lifestyle and I wouldn’t be able to sustain the hectic nature of my modelling commitments if I wasn’t 100 per cent committed to feeding my body the food, vitamins and minerals it needs.'
Mark Vassallo, who styled the shoot for the Australian edition of the weekly fashion title, echoed Miranda's comments.
'She’s as healthy as anything. High fashion models are a special breed. They have long legs and they’re very narrow through the body – that allows clothes to hang beautifully.
'Miranda has no problem with her body at all.'
Miranda, who is set to publish a book on nutrition later this year, told how she follows a diet based on her blood type to stay in shape.
'I know what works for me,' she said. 'Primarily I’m vegetarian, but I will eat a small amount of fish and chicken – and once in a blue moon I’ll have a steak.
'I’m adaptable – if someone cooks for me I’m not going to say, "Oh no, I don’t eat that". I believe you shouldn’t be so strict with yourself – life is about having fun and enjoying yourself but it’s also important to know what’s good for your body and what energises your body.'
But as she prepares for the launch of her own organic skincare line, Kora, in Australia next week, she did admit that her rising celebrity profile was beginning to take its toll.
'I work six days a week, 15 hours a day – and that’s not a joke,' she said.
'I’m generally in two different countries a week. And anyone else who had my schedule would probably fall apart. To be honest with you, it’s really, really intense.
'People don’t realise the extent of how hard I work, because they see it as just glitz and glamour. At the same time I am so grateful for it all, but it doesn’t give me a lot of downtime.'
Miranda explained how she does yoga every day, and meditates on planes, but is not the type of girl to go to the gym on her own.
'When I’m in New York I have a trainer who I see a couple of times a week,' she said.
'I’m always running to the airport and carrying my luggage, so that’s kind of enough cardio for me.'
Even though she has worked for Victoria's Secret, and done swimwear shoots for Sports Illustrated, she went on to admit that even she has body insecurities, but demonstrated a level-headed attitude to them.
'As women, we can’t compare ourselves because we’re each beautiful in our own unique way.'
She added that she was passionate about encouraging young girls to embrace themselves.
'I really don’t want girls to think they have to look like me. I want them to nurture themselves and really be the best they can be.'
