She dances across the screen, bronzed, toned limbs draped in exotic bohemian attire, a fabulous example of just how to pull off this summer's castaway chic trend. Supermodel Daria Werbowy stares seductively into the camera for the new H&M ad campaign and a summer style icon is launched.
The stunning 24-year-old Canadian is snapped in a heady mix of ikat and ethnic floral prints, dip-dyes and ombré effects.
"We wanted to create something very colourful and light, with stand-out print," said H&M head of design Ann-Sofie Johansson. "We were inspired by hot holidays in Africa, India, Hawaii and South America."
The gorgeous globetrotter eclectic look has flooded the SS/08 catwalks -- think paisley prints on breezy silks, fringed waistcoats and fluid flares and bohemia glamour translated to the beach. The daily beach uniform could not be simpler this season.
Take a Seventies-inspired triangle bikini and a swimsuit in a subtle shade like caramel or mocha (such as Monsoon's classy metallic number, €510), load wrists with bracelets and deck out necks with beaten metal and jewels. Pack billowing kaftans, such as the fab easy-to-wear J by Jasper Conran kaftan, €47, and ponchos.
Top with a colourful headscarf. If you want to go all out, check out Hermes' silk version, from €200, and teamed with gladiator sandals to finish off the look.
The cognac leather gladiator flat sandal by D&G (Dolce & Gabbana), from €350, available at Brown Thomas, is the most sought-after style for the summer.
